Looks like most of us have switched over to facebook. I admit that livejournal has a better blog feel to it, but facebook has more to offer. Anyway, I still check here every day or so to see what people post, but I'm on facebook at least 3 times a day. Anyone that is not my friend in facebook is welcome to come over an visit. Currently I have (from PX) Robert, Steph, Pete, Sara, Andy, Heather, Sean, Kelsey, and Rhea.

Alright alright, I'll do this memory thing too. Since my memories of the Planet X era are so hazy, how bout throw me some things that happened then. Well unless you didn't know me back then =)

10 years ago on this day I was on the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) on the Mediterranean. I'd been out to sea for about a month now and had about 5 more months before I would return home to my family. All I could think about was getting back there. I was kept busy as I worked 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, but home was on everyone's mind. Maybe I'll write down some of the experiences I had on that ship later, but it definitely takes me back...

Vance called and told us that the roof on the garage has collapsed. So Ann and I went down there to help Bobby get his motorcycle out before it totally fell down. It was a pain in the butt getting that out (more for Bobby than me).

Okay, so I've been working at Skils'kin for 14 months now. When I first got hired people told me you get a raise at 6 months. At 6 months I asked about it and my boss said nope, they only give raises once a year, but I would at least get $1 raise... probably more. So at the 1 year mark I went to my boss. She says I am an excellent employee and she has recommend to the board I get as large a raise as possible. After 2 more months the board of directors convened. You know how large my raise was? Zero! I didn't get a raise! Not one cent! What kind of bullshit is this?!?! I've worked there for over a year and they are pretty much saying I'm just as valuable as someone they pluck off the streets. Ridiculous... To be fair to Skils'kin nobody is getting a raise this year due to the financial difficulties people are having, but how can they keep experienced employees if you show them that they are worthless. Any ties and loyalties I've had with this company are now over. I still feel it is important to help my clients, but I'm getting out of there the first reasonable chance I get.

Okay, I have applied for 3 federal jobs today. 2 at the Spokane VA Hospital and 1 in Bangor, Wa at a Navy base. I hope I get a bite from one of them... There is also a job opening at the Portland VA Hospital. I have to write a short essay with that application.
